Outdoor Activities - fishing
Lochaber holds a wealth of varied angling opportunities and without
expectation each fishing trip in the Scottish Highlands will take
place against a backdrop of spectacular scenery.
The local rivers are popular for fly fishing and hold stocks of
salmon and sea trout. Loch fishing takes place in hill and forestry
lochs for brown trout, char, and pike. Sea angling charters can
be arranged and large skate, mackerel and conger eel are often caught.
The Rod and Gun Shop on Fort William High Street is the best place
for advice on local fishing and permits.
Glencoe Lochan provides easily accessible fishing for Rainbow Trout
and the penisula at The Isles of Glencoe Hotel and Leisure Centre
is very popular with anglers.
